Today we have an extra man to the crew. Clayton J.  is now part of the group. At 7 lbs. 14 oz.  21 inches long he may be the tallest of the group.

Grandchildren are a blessing because I don't have clean them or correct them. I will watch them, I  will play with them, and feed them.

We draw the world and color books and do all sorts of stuff that is fun. That is what we do.

Keep your diaper clean and your brushes wet.

Finally the good earth has given us weeds. Adam you knucklehead. But for many the sight of these little buggers it means spring.

In the north we love / hate them one because it is the only green we have. Two it is time to mow the yard and spray. We can weed and seed.

One year my friend stopped by and asked me why my yard was yellow. It was because my mower was junk.

This little pix would make a good painting the composition is right to left and grouped together in a neat way.

So lets get out the mower and keep our brushes wet.

Spring is here!

After the dark Dutch palette Van Gogh came to Paris and saw the impressionist and what they were using. The Light palette. He began to take in a world of light.

Painting near this river is southern France he was able to capture more of the light and put it on his canvas.

His choppy brush strokes are his trade mark. the flow of the river is indicated by the fast moving brush stroke. The trees are light a airy with the points and dab of texture.

So we have had two warm days in Ohio this week and look out fishermen and boaters are making their way to the lake.

Keep your  brushes wet and your fish in the bucket.

Two days of sun and the fishermen are out.

Helping my Grandfather one day many years ago, He said, " Cast your Eagle Eye down that row of beans.'  Now until then I didn't know I had an Eagle eye. Here it is 60 years later and I still remember that moment.

What we say to children and others for that matter count.Watch what you say and how you say it. It is easy to say something you don't mean and upset someone. It is also easy to say something good and help somebody.

At Monet's funeral Cezanne said that Monet was an eye. But what an eye.

Keep your brushes wet and your eagle eye pealed.

We need to enjoy another sunrise. A touch of the mighty sun. Even on a cloudy day the sun is shinning somewhere.

I like the sunset paintings and the sunrise paintings. Those creative sky's that are even troubled. Some of my sky's that I paint  are very stormy. I remember driving home one day seeing a sky of watercolors, it was if God had a giant paint brush dripping across the sky.

Okay I might be a little ate up with painting but you got to have a hobby. At least I haven't cut my ear off yet.

Keep  your brushes wet and look up and see a sunrise.

Good Morning Sunrise

As an artist we can paint a project over and over. Monet paint this scene countless times. By painting a piece over you can see the subtle changes in the scene. You see Monet and the boys built this  Japan bridge. Then he began to paint the project over and over.

The reason he painted it so many times was he wanted to show light. To show the dark and shadows.

I think so many of us are becoming homogenized so that everything is the same and no one is different. Be the same like everyone else and that somehow makes you different?

Paint something over and over till you master it then move on to the next thing.

Keep your brushes wet!

Paint and Repeat

Native art is at times prophecy. Sometimes it is just weird. At other times it is just fun. Eastern art is mystic and for many of us it is out there.

But it is fun! This hand with the eye was fun to paint.

Do you have fun ideas you want to do? Do it! Go for the weird ideas in your projects. You may just come up with some new art!

Keep your brushes wet and look it is warm out side!
