I like several things, lighthouses, bridges, and landscapes.( i.e. Mountains) I like the stone work and the way the shadows play under the bridges' arches.

The vanishing point of the waters edge fade into the horizion. Trees and banks all blend into the waters edge as well.

Sketch and drawing is relaxing for me and allows me to escape for a few minutes everyday.

Yesterday I talked about warm colors so in fairness today is all about the cool colors. Color evokes a mood. Look in your house and see how you have warmed up or cooled down your house.

This is a copy of Monet's painting of his trees. The over all feel is cool because of the blues and greens yet we add the yellows to give it some warmth.

So kids stay cool and Keep your brushes wet!

Cool colors Today

Monday, January 7, 2019

When we think of warm colors these reds and yellows come to mind. Yet there are many other colors that are in the warm range.

Some browns, tans, and grey's are warm, as well as whites and cream colors. Conversely  these also could be a cool color by adding a blue or pale color to them.

So many colors are available to our eye yet we must train ourselves to see them.

Keep your colors warm and your brushes wet.

What does freelance mean? Well many years ago in the middle ages a knight with no king or land to defend was a "Free Lance Knight"

His sword and lance was for sale. He would fight for you and yours if the money or adventure was right.
Today we are known for our work as free lance artist or artist for sale.

So keep your lance close and your brushes wet!

In the hall  I hang many paintings I have done. Some are good and some are well...
But I have enjoyed them all and learned much from them.

Like I say the more you do the more you learn.

Keep your brushes wet and go for it!

Hall of paintings

I've shown this photo before but as I look at it I think what is our artistic path? Where are we going this year? What art adventures are we going to have?

I want to paint an old barn scene with trees and old paint on the boards. I want to capture a few other Ideas also.

What are your goals painting or other wise? Write them down, look at them, and don't tell just anyone.
Guard your goals.

But paint away!

Where are we going?

Tuesday, January 1, 2019

With canvases and paint I am ready for the challenge this year presents. Be it watercolors, oil, or acrylics lets' go for it. I will be drawing and giving my two cent worth or a bit of my wisdom and wit.

I hope you dig my vibe. Or enjoy the place we go.

Are you ready for this year?  Find something to draw or paint.

And remember to keep your brushes wet!
