So many people have their Tree up. We don't ...yet. But this weekend we will. This was a few years ago. Old Lucy girl was looking at me as if to say are you getting me something?

I see many pine trees in cards and other pictures. Take a Christmas card and use it for Ideas. The Norman Rockwell type painting is what everyone thinks of the perfect Christmas but the truth is we don't always have that.

Don't set your expectations so high. Give what you can and be thankful for what you get. I remember getting fruit and used toys one year. I know some people get nothing.

Give from your heart and give of your art.

Do you paint what you know. Or do you paint what you see? Maybe we paint what we feel? Then there is the Paint what we want. Whew how do you know what to do?

We try to represent a subject for our viewer to feel what we feel. Express a mood, or a thought. Is it more important for me to paint a thing or a view than letting a viewer into my world?

Then lets paint and draw what we can and try to get better along the way.

This is Boo or Roy or get out of the trash! Boo Boo has a new bed. She curls up and snuggles down and this time of year we all want to do that.

We got her this new bed yesterday. Boo is a digger, she digs at her other beds. Like all dogs she wants to move and adjust her home the best she can.

You could sketch this bit of her laying down and curled up.

Did you ever hold your hand up to make your TV show come in better? Did you ever wiggle your head to get a better parking place? How about drawing a bunch of circles and triangles to help your team win the big game?

Stupid or magic? Powerful or wacky? Or is it just something to keep me from going crazy? Well.....
Okay it was just a busy moment for my game watching before I went nuts.

I really like the combination of triangles and circles.

I have heard for years, " I could do that!"
Well why didn't you? Because we didn't see the artistic design in the drips.

Jackson Pollack actually studied how to do this. He was a conventional painter that moved into the more abstract as he got older.

It is finding your voice or expression. In paint or song, or verse or story. Keep looking and trying new things.

Keep your drips wet!

So I thought that the circles and squares work how about triangles? The fun of this is the invention of not being a same Jane. I mean placing the same triangle in the same line as above or below it. That is what makes it fun.

Using the pastel colors with some stronger color also adds flavor to this composition. I do notice the black line sticking together creating larger shapes.

Try different things experiment with color and shape.
