Welcome to the year 2017. The bowl games are on TV and lots of fun stuff.

Okay Its Van Gogh day, Yes I'm on the way to See my old friend.

I went to Ohio State for my college in art. I bleed Scarlet and Gray, go Bucks! They are up against the Clemson team and they are good, but my bucks are tough!

This is a little painting I made and enjoy with my brother and sister in law they live in Las Vegas. They too are buckeye fans.

These Little paintings make great gifts you could paint anything for your friends and family.

Well be safe tonight and all next year! Keep your brushes wet!!

Welcome New Year - Go Bucks

Friday, December 30, 2016

This quick little watercolor was done last week just to try some stuff. I used a real wet brush to make my wreath and tree. I let it bleed then after it was dry I added the details then took a tube of red and yellow to dab the tree and wreath.

Well on the sad note I will probably take the tree down today. So goodbye Christmas till next year. New Year's look out here we come.

2017 Today seems like no big deal but as I remember any thing after 2000 was the "future" with the "Jetson's" flying cars and all that. Well not much has changed in all those years. I am still painting.

Okay For today lets clean our brushes and put up the decorations.

Lets put up Christmas

We are facing a New Year and the rest of winter, but really only 90 days or so, yet we will have a Snow Day. This Snowy Day was an Idea of stuff in the back ground with trees in the middle ground, rocks and snow on the hill in our fore ground.

Watercolor is curious and sometimes very hard to control, but you can do it.
Planing and vision is the most important step in your painting.

This was only a few colors Payne's gray, ultramarine blue, and cobalt blue.
I used white gauche for the snow on top and made sure it was dry for the bright white.

Try this one you may like it . I want to keep a few new paintings in the funnel so we can keep you informed and teach everyone whats up.

Well keep your brushes wet and your snow shovel close winters just getting started.

Snowy Day

This week I've been telling you about the art lesson I gave on Monday. (aka our family Christmas)
Well here is the class and we are hard at work.

Many of you know that Art and Music  touch a place in the creative brain that causes great things to happen. If you can spend a few minutes each week with your grandchildren or your own children to kick start imagination in your child what great rewards may happen?

Red houses, brown frogs, and purple trees. PICASSO!!! $MILLIONS??

Well maybe not, but somebody had a gorilla paint and an elephant. Why not us? ( check out our thumbs.)

Well lets keep our brushes wet and paint and cut and orange bananas and Black rainbows.

The Master Artist Teaches the Next Gen

Tuesday, December 27, 2016

This pix shows how a rainbow normally is thought of, it is a display of light and water droplets. Yesterday I gave my Granddaughters an art set for each of them. Well Miss K wanted to paint right away. We painted then Miss G got in the mix and soon Miss C was cutting paper as well.

Miss K started to paint a rainbow (Gods Promise) Purple, Blue, and .....Black????

Well Bob Ross said,"Its your world on your canvas so paint what you want."
So If you see a black stripe in your rainbow then put it in there! It is Important to at least paint something.

Well kids keep your rainbow up in the air and paint away!

This was our Christmas in '14. We had all the kids. And we had a ball.

This year we had almost everyone. Yet it was still fun!

Paint wise, look at the" W" my son Dan painted. Once you start to paint it just keeps happening.

Okay if you have not gone to Cincinnati Art Museum now is the time the Van Gogh exhibit is all most over Jan. 8th is the last time it will be on display.

This year coming up I want to show and explain more paintings to you all!

Well kids Keep you brushes wet!
