The Whole Ball of Color

This is the basic color wheel 3 primary colors and 3 secondary colors.  The Tertiary colors are 6 and are mixed by a primary and secondary color. This is where we get strength in our paintings and even in our home decor.

The Triad: painting with three colors equally spaced from each other, i.e. Orange, Violet, and Green.
Tetrad is a combination of four colors that are two sets of complementary colors. for example Red and Green and Blue and Orange.

To make grays you can use two colors that are complementary, red and green but you will have to add white. The best gray is burnt sienna and ultramarine blue with white, but these colors not on the wheel are chemical and are "new colors" meaning that most are from the late 1800's.

So much to cover but we'll go a little at a time.
