Art is Emotion

Well let see we have talked about color and value, as well as canvas and boards. We have gone over Oil, acrylic, and watercolor.  We have tried to explain the why and how but the most important thing is the reason we do these crazy designs.

In Prehistoric times it was to put the spirit in the weapon, or tool, or what ever they were working on. The idea of art as something just to look at or hang on the wall is a relative new one. About the 1600 to 1700's The Dutch broke away from the Roman church and no more religious pictures or subjects on the wall.

They also had extra money because of the trade status the enjoyed from the new world. Rich Guild members wanted their pictures painted for future generations to see how rich they truly were.

Art has become emotional more and more especially in the last 150 years with the Impressionist and the expressionist, as well as abstract artist expanding their realms.

So  lets express our emotions!
