Newest Medium Acrylics

Acrylics is a water soluble pigment made with acrylic polymer emulsion. In 1937 a German scientist discovered  a polymer to make a new paint. Then in the 1950's companies began to expand this discovery and use the emulsion in other paints like house paint and artist paints.

In the early 60's and 70's artist took off with this fast drying paint and used it for base coats in other paintings and so much more. It has the ability to have Opaques and transparent colors. I have painted hundreds of projects with this medium. I like it now, when I first tried it it was not as easy to work with but now no problem.

Like oils you need to work from dark to light, this is also a great build up way to paint. And with all the added textures and thickeners plus the other "things" you can do with latex and acrylics (adding sand or almost anything you can think off.) It has become a super way to paint and good started for kids and adults alike.

Try it you'll like it!
