DeGas painter and grump

Art is my wife he once said. Painting and later sculpture became his whole life. You may know him from the ballet paintings and pastels. He was part of the impressionist. But as you look at his work you do not see his feel for the true impressionist painting.

He has strong ties to New Orleans, USA. One of his more famous paintings is the "Cotton Office".
This painting is more about the horses dance or movement.

His step in to the stage of the Opera D' Paris with the ballet and all of the dancers and including movement. But like many people who are single minded he became more and more of a grump.

Look him up study him and compare the difference between him and the other group like Monet, Renoir, and Manet.
