I thought the place was bigger

Did you ever think a place was bigger or different than it was in person? This is Shiloh church from the battlefield of the same name. This is a rebuilt building to show us the size and way people worshiped in the old days.

Men sat on one side and women and children on the other. But the building is the same as all the men in the Civil War battle would know. This is typical construction and when you draw or paint it study the corners and roof.

So many of these battles were near churches and towns. The north always named the battle after the body of water near by. The south named it by towns or buildings.

Draw these neat old buildings and towns.

Keep your brushes wet.
