Two of my favorites are eating at Red Lobster and Lighthouses. We were in Columbus, Ohio and saw this great picture of a lighthouse. Wouldn't you love to live here and be in charge of a lighthouse protecting the sailors.

I know the dangers on the rocks to ships as well as the maintenance of the grounds. And the romance of the whole thing is probably more in our minds than the real thing.

And as well as eating at the Lobster.  I can see setting down and drawing this house and lighthouse.
Fun city!

Well lets get our bib on and dip in keeping our brushes wet!

Two of my favorites

Yes I mean me not the turtle. Sometimes I snap back a little bit. not to be mean but to hear my self.

This Old boy was crossing the drive way and moving toward the pond behind my house. The Misses was upset with him he had been out late. You know how it its.

Well now we all try to spread our wings but any more I can't do like I did even though the will is there but the body is not on board.

I will do some painting and drawing soon. The more you do the better you get! Andy Just finished a beautiful painting I hope to show it soon. Nice job Andrew!

Well I have some ice cream cake to eat for the birthday boy (yum) so look out Cleveland here I come!

Keep your turtles and brushes wet!

The Ole' Snapper is 65

Monday, September 25, 2017

In about 27 hours this old boy will hit 65 how much fun is that? Well a lot some don't go that far but I think I'll make it.

Being born was so traumatic for me I couldn't walk or talk for the first nine months! But once I started talking away I went. Now that at this ripe age I find I don't talk as much. I listen and learn a lot more.

In the first grade I painted a picture with the sun and moon in it. Wow did take flack for that but you know what if you go out side and look up lots of days you will see the moon and sun at the same time, so there Mrs. L. Ha!

I real got serious about drawing in the fifth grade. I drew a volcano with the best lava ever it hung on the wall at school for a while. later in high school I was the guy that was the "artist" painting a drawing for projects at school like the class plays.

After school I had a sign shop and painted everything under the sun. (and Moon)

So for over fifty years I have drawn, painted, or did some kind of art and love almost all of it.

Congratz old man!

This wooded area is so beautiful with the beaver dam in the fore ground. I enjoyed it (painting it ) so much. The detail was done at the last minute.

I wanted the sky the same as the water, yet I also wanted a sheen across the water as well. The white scrub brush and light trees in the middle ground and the green grasses in the foreground add a beautiful accent.

In the near right front the birch trees add much interest to the whole picture.

These kind of pictures make you want to keep painting.

Let get our brushes wet! Paint on.

Pines, Trees, and Sky

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

I love to go to sleep thinking of this scene. Sometimes Kathy ask for me to talk about a relaxing place. I see this place, soft surf lapping at the warm white sand. The palm trees gently blowing in the breeze their fronds rustling.

The Sun slowing setting. The sky on fire with the last rays of sunlight in the early evening. I think this would be a super place to picnic or camp or just grab a quick refreshing drink.

And this was also a great little painting, fun to do and quick.  I love the color, the blues and reds. With the silhouette of the palms and the shack in the background it makes it more interesting.

Well kids only one more radiation treatment and I'm done for a while. Lets see what tomorrow brings. Love ya!

Let your palms keep blowing in the breeze and your brushes wet!

Ready To Relax?

When Larry came back from Viet Nam my dad took him and a few other of us to Michigan to go fishing and mushroom hunting.  Larry was rather nervous, understandable he had been wounded and was not quite on his feet yet.

This lake is one of the ones we fished in and many of the surrounding woods we hunted mushrooms. It was  a good time for all of us. A few other of the men were veterans and we could talk things over.

Larry died yesterday and I will miss him he worked with my dad as partners and beside all that he was a second cousin. He was always funny and did goofy stuff to make you laugh.

Keep your powder dry and your brushes wet.
Goodbye Old Friend!

Goodbye to old friends and old places.

So as of today I have four radiation treatments left to do.

I have worked for 40 some years, get up early every day and drive wherever the work was. But these treatments just kick my butt. I know I am a little tired but I expected that I would be okay thru the whole thing. Not always.

Wednesday I had a biopsy and found out I have a cancer on my cancer. What who does that? Any way they (Dr.s) think they can cut it out and it will be fine.

Old Van Gogh did a little surgery on himself, to impress a lady! Not me I you are not impressed then fine. Pick someone else to hang with.

Well kids keep praying and keep your brushes wet and your ears in place!
