Suggest and Draw

Degas was a master of the quick sketch he had the lines down. If you study this drawing you see he did the foreshortening of the girls face, and her shoulder. He wanted to catch his model in the act of not modeling. That spur of the moment action.

The old joke," How do you get to Carnegie Hall? "Practice, Practice, Practice." It is that way with so many things we as humans do. The more you do your job the better you get at it.

I am always amazed at skill like this but he (Degas) filled his day with these drawings over and over. Then he painted them.

Keep your  brushes wet!
