Are we there Yet?

The last two days I have showcased my process in painting a lighthouse.

I have the rocks laid in and the browns and greens of the hill side.

I wanted to have the dark ground further back with the light toward the front thus bringing you in to the picture.

I could have finished the lighthouse itself and done minimal detail to have a clean and finished picture.

As I look back now I see I could have add pinks to the sky or oranges to create even more interest and depth in my sky.

I hope I learn some thing from every painting. I feel as though I did with this one and I may repaint the whole painting to see if I can catch the feeling I want.

As we paint can we say .. Are we there Yet?
