How to start

This how I start many of my hard board paintings. I use burnt sienna as an under painting. On canvas I use a combo of dark brown and ultramarine blue with white gesso for a gray background. That kills the bright white of the canvas or board so I can see my drawing to paint my design or motif.
On hard board you can make texture of sand, rock, or what ever you need in your picture.
Painting with acrylics is enjoyable because they dry rather quickly, but the also the bad thing is they dry so quickly. Ha!Ha!
I find that there is so much to learn and do, I feel sometimes like I just started painting then other times its as if I hit my stride!
Well keep your brushes wet!
