Pressure of the Brush

Painting is a combination of color, light, and dark.  As well as drawing, tone, and value. But another thing we sometimes forget is the pressure of the brush.

You can drag or push or you can blend and glaze with the brush.On  this light house I used a light touch to glaze a shadow and highlight on the two sides and by doing so it looks round.

A heavy pressure and you make rocks or tree limbs, with a light pressure you make the water look lighted.

So keep your brushes wet and put the pressure on!
