Backgrounds and blue flowers

I painted this a long time ago but one thing I did that was fun was half and half. Half tan and half dark on the diagonal. Then as I decide what to paint I can paint this crazy bunch  of flowers.

Backgrounds add to the painting doing different types of colors and blending makes more interest. Experiment with colors or shapes. By  doing a solid color then put a shape over it and then painting your picture can add to your image.


 Use color that may not be in the real world but will add to the overall composition. Remember color harmony and blending to the project. Know the rules and break them.

Most of all have fun and get lost in your painting.
