Something with character, or a few bumps and knots is more interesting. People today want the most thin, or the smoothest skin, or flowing hair. But the reality is we all are bumpy.
Van Gogh, Monet, and even Picasso saw the bumps. Bob Ross sees the smooth but also the rough Mountain. The native Americans made the best bowls from huge knots on the old tree called burl's. They would carve and burn them out to make the inside of bowl.
These bowls were hard and lasted even until today. We should take a snapshot from this example.
So be kind to us with a few flaws, and keep your brushes wet.
