Let the eye blend it

The Impressionist like Monet would paint a view letting the colors blend on the viewers eyes. That is the key to the whole movement.

Seurat took to the points of color of each individual item in the painting.

Van Gogh used lines of color to do the same thing. But Monet and Renoir perfected it. I was at a museum and a lady said she didn't get the  paintings, I said step back six feet.

These artist let it blend in your eyes. If you think about it it was a time when photography was new. Science was explaining new ideas. People were learning new ways and not everyone one wanted to go. 

Keep your brushes wet and let your eyes blend color.
