I feel better about the rocks

This is the whole frame work of yesterdays painting. But I would draw your attention to the rocks. As you look below you can see the rocks some with sunlight on them and other with no sun.
that's the effect I wanted.

Usually I try not to repeat a photo but to day I like the lighting effects and even the shadows. Finding the middle grays and other middle tones helps bring this big boy to life.

Doing the low lights as well as the highlights is very important and builds a more consistent picture.

Well keep your brushes wet.
