Vertical is stronger than horizonal

Da Vinci said the vertical is the the strongest painting line. Other Doctors agree that the vertical engages your brain more readily than that of the horizion line.

This painting is based on yesterdays "idea"  page. Something I saw on the travel show. Yes this is more of my interpretation of what I saw than the actual picture.

I saw the birch trees, the low background, and the ferns in front. Simple. By picking it out slowly and deliberate I think you get a better picture.

Also a key ingredient was the pre-painted background  with the lights and darks creating depth of field.

So dip in gang, keep your brushes wet and stay vertical.
