So the rules are thus: you can not copy anyone's art work and call it your own, but you can take Ideas, bits and pieces for example: The rocks, how the sunlight hits them as well as the shadows. Also you could use the shapes of the lighthouse and how the roundness of the walls are accented with light and shadow.

I have always loved the lighthouse, I saw them in Michigan and around the Great Lakes. They are iconic to the lakes.

One could take a variety of pictures and make a composite of several lighthouses for a completely new picture.
