No Middle Tones

When you paint you need middle tones to balance your painting. But if it is all middle tones then it makes the painting dull.

Grey is a middle tone but not all grey's are the same. Some are warm and others are cool. By finding the balance between the two is the trick.

Adding lights and shadows make the picture and extends depth. By starting with under-painting and then putting the light on top of the painting make it look more painterly.

Remember there is only one sun. Meaning one light source out doors. Watch your shadows and lights. Okay go to it.

Keep your  brushes wet.
