All at once or "Alla Prima"

The Weeping willows, the waterlily pond, the blooming flowers! These Ideas have captivated painters ever since Claude Monet and his family moved to a little town in Normandy, France, Giverny.

Alla Prima refers to painting all at once. That's the way I painted it.
This painting was an experiment to  pick up the reflection of the Weeping willows and blend the water and lily pads.

I know many painters take their time, and will paint something over weeks and even months.

But for a quick dash or thumbnail sketch let go "Alla Prima." If you have several of these paintings you can pick the one you want for you next Masterpiece.
