Painting Glass

We have a vase with these dried leaves and flower in our bathroom,
one day I decided to paint it just to see if I could.

Glass has its own challenges to paint, one its usually clear and two you have to pick up whats inside to show its properties. As well as its reflections.

This painting is done on a gray background with a dark base, the light shines through to reflect on the wall behind it.

The beads in side the glass vase also shine through. I like the blues, yellows, tans, and browns.

I can see this in a room with a gold frame or a light tan, to accent the colors in it.

You may want to try to paint a glass vase or a glass of water they both have certain challenges that make an interesting painting.
