Broken Color and Light

This painting is like several that Monet and Pissaro and some of the other Pointillist did with a dash of color here and there.

To find the light and air in these paintings is harder than one would imagine. The purple is the far mountain near Giverny. The broken lines of the trees and leaves fill the right hand space.

The Darker green in front indicates the depth of field  with the grasses, rooting the trees in a field of color.

Monet originally did this painting with his wife and daughters in it, I left them out because it for me was a study of how to achieve the feeling of the moment.
This painting was done on board from Hobby Lobby, and acrylics by Liquitex.

I hope you enjoy this little walk back in time.
