Sisters! At the Beach!

 This is a very special painting for me, its my granddaughters in Florida going to the beach, Kaileigh and Gracie.
But its more than that its a painting of people with fewer strokes and touches of color.

This painting also catches the feeling of girls/sisters going to the beach. Its a very iconic scene of summer fun.

I have used mostly background color then added highlights. The girl in pink, Gracie, her dress was done in lights and dark, adding the shadows. Kaileigh's  dress was also done in the solids then added the drapes and folds later.

The grass and path is just secondary but needs to blend to the whole picture.  It was a challenge to paint this to and make it work.
