Shiloh Church in Tennessee

In 1862 this was a peaceful little church for a few people in south east Tennessee. By the first of April it was a bloody battlefield.

I have always wanted to go here. I read a book called "Johnny Shiloh" and it is a true story of Johnny Clem a young Ohio drummer boy in the Civil War.

I was in and all over this church. It has been rebuilt because time destroys all things. But to paint this little church where the men sat on one side and the women sat on the other is just amazing to me.

We were lucky on this day it was sunny and we were able to see so many places on the battlefield. The Hornets nest, the bloody pond, and the place where General Johnston was killed. This Battle made General Grant and later President Grant into a hero. He stood his ground and realized that the enemy is just as scared as you. Keep Fighting! If it Spiritual, physical, or mental, keep at it.

Painting is the same, just keep at it someone will like your stuff. Winner's never quit, and quitters never win.

Paint this and have some fun with it, Remember to Keep your brushes wet! and don't quit!
