Paint a Chair? Yes!

I, like you, say what to paint? Well paint what you see, what you know what is around you. Painters paint, writers write.

Vincent saw this chair and painted it. One reason I feel he did so was because it cost to hire a model. Chairs do not talk back and fidget around.

Van Gogh had a capability to bring to life a chair or bed or a house. The stars in the sky seemed to pulse when he painted them.

In art school I had a teacher put a chair on the desk and said to the class draw this. We all jumped in drawing and sketching away. After a few minutes He said to stop. Now look at how many rails and back boards there are. How many leg stretchers there are? Compare to your drawing and the actual chair. Drawing and painting is what you see as much as what you feel.

Vincent was prolific in painting and drawing.  At his house in Arles, as he waited on Gauguin, he cleaned and worked on his paintings. He gave life to this chair. But as I said earlier what will I paint today. What do you see in the room around you? Lets paint that.

Keep our brushes wet and paint a chair.
