Darby Creek

In order to paint something you must see it. I may see it different than you or you may see something I don't. Stop an look at what you see and define it on paper.

This creek is in Eastern Ohio, in early spring I like the clear water with the sun bouncing off it. Now you can "edit" what you see, Van Gogh said, "paint the obvious." Clean up the branches in front of this creek and emphasize the three trees in the back to show depth.

Detail the rocks and add color to the grasses. have some fun with the painting.
Do a drawing to lay out your darks and big elements. Use your pencil for the reflections in the water.

Get your brushes out and get your brushes wet not yourself. Have fun in the creek!
