Fun Cabin and Trees

Would you love to stay here for a few days? The cabin by the creek, the mountain in the distance. Huge Pines and the dead tree in the fore ground.

I began to paint the waves of the creek, the far distant trees and the dead pines. The woods add a layer of interest in the painting as it is more and more finished.

Layers on layers, that creates interest. But you need to build up slowly to let the painting come to you. Adding grasses, Trees and some darker pines make it look farther away in that neat back-ground.

Next the cabin, I wanted the roof to look like a tin or metal covering. The walls to appear like old siding or old wood. I also used a small brush to make the windows with a dark color to show how the windows would look from a distance. By including the light color around the eves and an accent for a outline on the whole house it brings out he side and roof of the house. Later I will tone it down with a wash of color, red or some other complementary tone.

Well these brushes are still wet and will be for a while!

Get well soon Dan, I know you will!
