Water Fall / Feature

Everyone says how hard it is to paint water falls but if you can take a fan brush and dip it in water and gesso boom. Water falls are a cinch, in oils they are even easier.

I took this picture near Marysville, Ohio to show the different layers and shapes of water falling.

You can do a under painting first for your water then add a glaze on top of that then scrub a mixture of white a turquoise as your highlights. Then  with a dark blue and brown mix to indicate the shadows and reflections. Always keep the sides dark.

I would brighten this up a lot as it was mid winter when the picture was taken but you get the Idea. Have some fun with this, brighten the trees in the back ground, also the grasses.
check out the rocks as well. this pictures got a lot going on in it.

So as has been said keep your brushes wet and paint water falls.
