Under Painting Starter

For the next few post I will do a painting of snowman and cabin. I want to show step by step what I did and how.

As you can see this is the sky and I've blended the orange and yellow in to the blue and purple of the fading sky.

By wetting the canvas and adding the white gesso and orange with cadmium yellow I get this pale sunset. Then I blend into the blue and back into the orange. This gets a soft blend.

The whole painting is laid out and The next move is going to be the trees and far away distant back ground.

With the fore ground sketched in I know I want the snowy road to lead your eye to the distant trees.
Tomorrow I will show more of how and why.
