First Winter Day

This piece is one I did last week. I wanted to do a Birch tree and some fence. This is what came out.

This is on my gray paper sketch book, and only a few color pencils. I used a white charcoal pencil for my accents and highlights. Brown, Blue and Purple were the three colors I used.  Theses pencils are from Germany.

I decided to make several levels or planes in this project. The horizion and then moving forward to the fence and then to the birch trees. Knowing the lay of the land and how you want it to flow makes your piece better.

These are fun to do and it takes a little bit of time. In my Chemo sessions I can draw and relax a bit.
