The Beaverdam

In spring the male beaver thinks of building a home for is lady. This is a picture I painted a few years ago and it hangs in a home near me.

The fun of this painting is the building of the distance. The juxtaposition of the birch trees in front of all the branches. The glaze on the river adds interest and is a leader.

Distance is also achieved by the height of the pine trees. As they recede in the distance your eye is brought to the end or focal point of the painting. We then travel to the beaverdam.

I have said as an artist you should be happy with one out of five or six paintings to be excellent. This one for me was a "Super" painting because it brought back great memory and great subject as well.

OK kids lets keep our brushes wet and our family closer!
