Pen and Ink with Watercolor

Well I hate to tell you this but in 6 months winter will be here and Christmas is just around the corner.
This painting would be a neat Christmas card.

I used to paint and use ink as a outline as well as a guide for other subjects. One could use a wash on your back ground and then define the subjects in front. I see the ladies on the Craft an Sewing channel do things like this with fabric.  Instead of Ink use thread sewing your outline.

The more creative you become the more you see. Ideas come into your head and you find ways to make them happen. I think that happens with painting as well. You draw and paint and find ways to expand your talent. One other point I would like to make here is that if you have a child or a young person in your charge or obit of influence, if they create, praise it!

Praise and Refrigerator Art Gallery is where it all begins. If you'll just tell your kids that they can do anything and then help them do it. You will be surprised how they blossom. I don't mean let them go wild but encourage their talents.
