By now you have your flower garden planted and have mowed your yard many times. If you live in town you have seen the yards mowed many times. But the sunflowers will not bloom until mid and late August.
In Europe they have vast fields of Sunflowers. So for Vincent to get these subjects to paint was no big challenge.
One of the things I like about this is the pot is a reverse of the background. and everything is in the same chroma or values of color. the burnt yellows and golden hues. The impasto of this picture is incredible.
Enjoy the 14:59 hours of sun to day and get ready for winter it is just around the corner.
