Simplify - Paint and Subtract

Rocks and water with a focal point. As my friend, an artist Frank Clarke says "Have Some More Fun." Horizon, Sky, Middle ground, and Foreground.

The Horizon is about where the water fall is. The rocks are the lead in to the focal point near the falls.

I would leave out all the tall grass on the left side. I also would make the sky a little more blue or even a few more clouds. With your artist licence you can add or subtract as you see fit.

This view could be a "Ross" type of painting. quickly brushed in with a few happy little trees and almighty rocks. By using a fan brush a waterfall would quickly appear. In an oil painting you would do your darkest and deepest darks first. On the right side, and in the back I would paint the darks near the falls. Then your lights would pop.

Well keep your brushes wet and be ready to Subtract or add as needed!
