Watercolor peaches

Make a quick study of the fruit of choice. Peaches. I wanted to paint the shadow sides and the underside, adding red and yellows.

With a light wash of blue as the background or maybe wall paper. The roundness of the peach is shown by the light and shadow.

These little studies are a great way to get your eye around the different shapes. Do a cone and a rectangle, like a cereal box. You could paint a whole breakfast scene.

These exercises are good for your practice skills in watercolor. By doing a few of these paintings we can learn what our water will do. Will it bleed?  Will it flare out and ruin the picture? So we can understand things we don't know.

Dip in, paint up and keep your brushes wet!
