The Japanese Bridge

Monet, like many other of the Impressionist, reveled in the Japanese art prints coming from the East. They were taken by the flat and bold colors, the tranquil scenes, and the pictures of the country side.

So as Monet moved for the last time and money began to come to him in ever larger sums he build this water pond with the lily pads and bridge.

Tranquil and peaceful in his now older life he began to find motifs nearer to him rather than go miles from home and family. With an ever larger family and more responsibility working in this place became the normal for him. Most of all Painting this pond and bridge became the ultimate because of the sun and wind.

We the picture buying public, the few art dealers in France now saw what they the impressionist were doing and prices increased. With the show in the United States (New York) the wealthy Americans and Museums bought these pieces up.

His vision of a complete time frame of canvases everyone a different time by and hour or more started with this pond and Bridge.

So keep your brushes wet and you hammer near to build your bridge.
